 Offshore wind activity is of great importance to Hvide Sande Harbor, and with the establishment of the O&M center for Vesterhav Syd/Nord, the harbor becomes a hub for current and future wind farms in the North Sea.

Port of Hvide Sande is centrally located as the nearest harbor to the upcoming wind farms in the North Sea. Among them are the 2 parks in North Sea 1.
Additionally, the harbor is also very well positioned regarding a future EnergyØ. (though further out in the future)
The short sailing time from Hvide Sande Harbor to North Sea 1 saves the park owners a lot of money, as it gives technicians more working hours on the turbines. The short sailing time also means low fuel consumption. Finally, the short sailing time provides greater safety, as the service boats can reach the harbor faster in case of bad weather.

 Port of Hvide Sande also always offers an ice-free harbor for the offshore wind industry's crew boats. Hvide Sande is today the homeport for a number of companies that, with Hvide Sande Shipyard at the forefront, provide expertise in servicing a large part of the industry's crew boats. Hvide Sande Shipyard has, among other things, built five crew boats that are currently sailing on, among others, Horns Rev and Anholt. Additionally, they have great expertise in building both electric and hydrogen vessels.
