Hvide Sande Fish Auction has a modern auction hall with 1,400 m2 of cooling rooms. From the auction hall, Hvide Sande Fish Auction sells all consumer fish, which ensures a very high quality. Fish from Hvide Sande is in demand and valued throughout Europe.
Hvide Sande Fish Auction conducts the auction on the internet, where over 100 buyers from Europe bid every morning on the landed catches. A large part of the landings to the auction are bulked, fresh fish. This means fish that the fishermen sort, clean, and ice on board the boats. On some vessels, the fish boxes are provided with labels containing information about catch date, catch location, and weight. The information follows the catches all the way to the fish merchants or to the repackaging at the exporter.
Hvide Sande Fish Auction is certified to sell a range of consumer fish species under MSC – Marine Stewardship Council. The MSC certification ensures that the catches come from sustainable fishing and that it is possible to trace the fish all the way from fishing vessel to consumer.
