The Port of Hvide Sande can provide comprehensive solutions with many excellent benefits related to operation and service.
The Port of Hvide Sande continues to be the centre of several activities within Offshore Wind.
In 2023, Vattenfall is to construct a large O&M centre for Horns Rev and Vesterhav Syd/Nord wind farms.
Previously, the port was used on a commission basis for the construction of the Horns Rev 3 wind farm, as well as being the base port for survey vessels, supply ships, etc. in connection with the offshore wind farms.
During the summer of 2023, the port served as a commissioning base for Vesterhav Syd for Siemens/Gamesa.
Previously, the port was used as a commisioning base for the construction of the Horns Rev 3 wind farm for Vestas and Boskalis, as well as being the base port for survey vessels, supply ships, etc. in connection with the offshore wind farms.
Purpose-built for the offshore wind industry
Vesthavn was constructed specifically for the offshore wind industry. It features reinforced quays, dredging to a depth of seven meters and a 20,000 m2 ISPS secured storage area.
In addition, the port has approximately 200,000 m2 of land at Vesthavn and Nordhavn, with dedicated areas for Operations & Maintenance activities.
A unique location, close to the wind farms
Hvide Sande is the closest port to Horns Rev 2, Horns Rev 3 and Vesterhav Syd.
In addition, Hvide Sand is the nearest port for the development of the following wind farms: Viking Banke, Thor II, Thor III and Thor IV.
The Port of Hvide Sande is also centrally located for the planned Energy Island (EnergiØ) in the North Sea.
