Port of Hvide Sande with a record in goods over the quay in 2022
There has been activity in shipping traffic with goods over the quays in Hvide Sande Harbor during 2022. With an increase of 35% in volumes compared to 2021, and 22% above the average for the last 5 years, Hvide Sande Harbor consolidates itself as an important Traffic Port of goods and bulk for the entire Mid and West Jutland.
For the harbor, Goods, Bulk, and Transport Area is a focal point in Strategy 2025, where the overarching goal is to increase revenue and to operate a financially efficient and socially responsible business that enables investment in the harbor's infrastructure. Therefore, it is delightful that the business area is progressing and helping to spread the harbor's activities across multiple domains. In recent years, investments have been made in improved conditions for transport customers including a goods quay, bulk hall, larger ISPS areas, and access conditions.
It is especially the types of goods animal feeds, gravel, and dried sand that have contributed to the progress from 2021 to 2022, where all other types of goods have remained stable compared to previous years.
In collaboration with the local operators at the harbor and the goods customers, the harbor sees good opportunities for further growth in goods volumes and the use of harbor areas for the transport of goods. This can and should continuously help to make conditions for goods transport even better at the harbor.
The harbor's final economic result has not yet been finalized, but the expectation is that the increased goods turnover will also positively affect the harbor's operational result.
