CLOSEST TO THE HORNS REV WIND FARMS
The distance to the Horns Rev 3 wind farm is just 24 nautical miles. This makes the Port of Hvide Sande the closest port to Horns Rev 3.
The Port of Hvide Sande is also the port on the West Coast that is located closest to Horns Rev 2 - with a distance of 28 nautical miles.
Horns Rev 1 is located 31 nautical miles south-west of Hvide Sande.
NEAREST PORT TO FUTURE WIND FARMS IN THE NORTH SEA
In the North Sea off Hvide Sande, several offshore wind farms are planned and screened for the coming years.
- Vesterhav Syd at 170MW consisting of 20 8.4MW wind turbines was constructed by Vattenfall in 2023, approx. 6 nautical miles from the Port of Hvide Sande. Vattenfall has selected the Port of Hvide Sande as the O&M centre for this park.
Siemens/Gamesa used Port of Hvide Sande as the commissioning port for the construction phase in summer 2023.
- Thor Windfarm at 800-1000MW is planned for construction by RWE approx. 24 nautical miles northwest of the Port of Hvide Sande by 2027.
- Nordsøen Midt and Nordsøen Syd is in public tender for construction before 2032/2034.
These windfarms are located 20-30 nautical miles directly outside the Port of Hvide Sande.
The tender is open and deadline for bidding is spring 2026 for Nordsøen Midt, and autumn 2028 for Nordsøen Syd.
